• Puerto Vallarta fishing charters July

Puerto Vallarta fishing charters in July. Before I get started with the July fishing report here in Puerto Vallarta I want to address the question of the weather. I get hundreds and hundreds of calls each month asking about what the weather is going to be in the summer months here in Puerto Vallarta. We are in rainy season during June to October so yes it’s going to rain. Here in the tropics we normally experience rains late afternoon or early evening and during  the days the skies are sunny for fishing. . Along with getting the boats ready for our charters in the morning we are also constantly watching the weather conditions in Puerto Vallarta Mexico. We’ve been in business here for over 35 years and have never had an accident or any weather related problems. We appreciate everyone calling and your calls are welcomed.  I just want you know we’ll be keeping an eye on the weather for you for the summer months for any boating activities  you might be doing here while on vacation in one of the most beautiful spots in the world.

    puerto vallarta tuna fishing

July fishing I started off hot here in Puerto Vallarta. Offshore action is smoking hot. We’re seeing some nice Marlin along with some big cow tuna. Summertime is when the bigger Dorado start showing up offshore. You remember from one of our last report we’re starting to see the trash lines that are created by the light rains we have in the evenings.  We can work these lines  with live bait catching  Dorado and often along with the sailfish that feed on this trash line where two different water temperatures coming together and then blue and off colored Blue Water.

The Bay fishing here in Puerto Vallarta has been really fantistic for the month of July. Starting to see all kinds of small game feeding on those sardines that have been showing up with this warm weather and warm water. There’s been some of the roosterfish over on the Southside. I put this  in our last fishing report for June that we would be seeing them. The conditions here in July or the inshore fishing have gotten better. We are already starting to see a lots of families wanting to fish and this is perfect for the Bay.   We’ve also had a couple of good days fishing for bottom fishing for snapper and other good eating bottom fish. We’ve seen a few amberjack on the inshore and offshore trips those are always good eating and super fun to catch. The weather conditions remain the same winds and seas have been pretty much flat.  In the afternoon we have been seen a little more wind but with flat seas. Water temperature here in Puerto Vallarta fishing still holding right around 80° which is perfect for the pelagic fish fat we love catching here in Mexico.

  • Puerto Vallarta fishing report for May

Puerto Vallarta fishing charter report for May action. The deep sea fishing and weather are getting hotter.  There are some great  events that we always have here in May .  The Mexican  Mother’s Day, one of our San Blas international fishing tournaments and unbelievable fishing.  This is brought on  by warm gentle water moving in an onslaught baitfish in the Puerto Vallarta area.may fishing in puerto vallarta

When the bay water heats up we start seeing real large numbers of  Marlin coming in and around the day.  This last week here in Puerto Vallarta fishing we have been locating  good numbers of striped Marlin right here in the Bay area along with some sailfish. This means to the Bay of flags. With the water heating up and a large increase in bait activity will start seeing the black  marlin and blue marlin showing up offshore very soon. In the nest couple of weeks  we’re happy to be seeing all the striped Marlin in the bay. When you see the huge bait balls on the surface the fishing is wide open here for almost anything you want to catch.

If you’ve been checking my fishing reports that I’ve been doing over the last 30 years here we look for several things one of them is the water clarity, the blue water the temperature, the tides , and last but not least where the bait is running. The fish are just like us they have to eat so if you can find where the bait is then you will always find a lot fish. Always a plus if you have good water temperature , blue water and lots of bait all at the same time.puerto vallarta fishing report for may 2019

With this large amount of bait in the bay and in the outlaying areas we’re seeing all kinds of fish.  The big red  snapper had moved in and her striking  all kinds of lures , live bait, trolled bait and fresh cut bait fishing on the bottom with weights. You put it out there it they’ll bite it. Most of the Puerto Vallarta charter boats are catching lots of the yellowtail , the  mackerel, and the really great tasting California Bonita. Most of these Fish can be caught pulling rapalas and the small lures behind them like the deadly Clark spoons. Dragging baits and some of our high speed lures it’s a no fail method of landing fish inside the bay and offshore places we like to fish in May.

You can sure the action is going to be incredible offshore with all this bait running in the area. There’s still some large tuna’s out there to be caught. blue marlin and some more dorado action and the fast sailfish action offshore. Punta Mita on the North side there’s been some hot action ,good water temperatures and lots of bait movement.

  • Puerto Vallarta fishing report March Spring Break

Puerto Vallarta fishing report March spring break

Puerto Vallarta fishing report for March. Spring break is here  and the fishing is heating up as a lot of fishermen come here on vacation to Puerto Vallarta Mexico. I want to say a special  thanks all the people that went out with us for the month of February fishing here in Puerto Vallarta Mexico. We had several groups  fishing from Canada. The other large portion of our folks were coming from the fishing United States. Without these fantistic clients we couldn’t have had the spectular month that we did last year for all of our boats. We had a great month fishing with some nice sailfish, mahi – mahi, huge yellowtails and some striped Marlin/ sailfish.

    spring break puerto vallarta fishing

March is when we get our normal  trade winds and currents that are good for the  deep sea fishing. This brings in a lot of blue water filled with all kinds of bait these pelagic fish love to eat. The water temperatures did move down a little bit and it’s holding steady at about 78 degrees. This means will still be able to see the striped Marlin but would be surprised to see the blue marlin  and some black action show up with more consistency.

Puerto Vallarta fishing is having fantistic action and lots of deep sea fishing trips. The humpback whales are still here and will be until April. The fishing areas have been calm and overall the fishing has been great. Puerto Vallarta is still one of the hottest places to fish in Mexico.

Nuevo Vallarta fishing is as good as it gets. The hard fighting Yellowtail have been showing up in huge numbers. Most days we’ve seen schools up almost 200 to 300  fish tear up the bait balls that arrived with these March trade winds. The playful humpback whales are still out close to Nuevo Vallarta and it’s not surprising to see the mom and the baby calf playing that are close by.marcg fishing in Mexico

Punta Mita fishing is hot this time of the year. Punta Mita fishing is where we usually see the effects of the great tides and trade winds that come in March as it surrounds us in all kinds of bait for the pelagic fish to eat. Just north of Punta Mita fishing still seeing sailfish and some striped Marlin almost every day. These are really great for your 10-hour fishing trips up to 12 hrs. trips offshore for the big ones.

The fishing here in Puerto Vallarta Mexico is good to excellent. We’re still waiting to see who the really good numbers and the schooling roosterfish and more sailfish. As the water heats up so will the fishing.

Hope to see you soon here in Puerto Vallarta fishing in March Spring Break

  • Puerto Vallarta fishing report February

Puerto Vallarta fantistic fishing report February. A lot  has changed since our last fishing report. The fishing remains good in most of the offshore fishing places we fish all the time. The inshore action it’s still on fire and catching a lot of the yellowtail, California Bonita, Spanish mackerel, mahi- mahi and also some other game fish like roosterfish along the North Shore. This kind of fishing action can’t beat here in Puerto Vallarta ,Mexico. puerto vallarta deep sea fishing
The major difference in our deep sea  fishing is that we have in the month of February and March is weather changes in the wind. These are the two most windiest months of the year here and our beautiful Bay in Puerto Vallarta. The fishing remains the same but where and how we catch a lot of big fish changes. When fishng inside the bay and outside we just have to figure out what the wind I s doing and make changes. On most days early in the morning the seas are  flat but in the afternoon they can pick up a little bit . The winds can pick up to 15 knots on some days.  When this happens we have to change lures and methods of fishing to catch fish offshore.  Kite fishing works well with a little bit of wind.
The offshore action still holding strong with some Striped Marlin, sailfish and some of the dorados. This is the best time of the year we like to run offshore early in the mornings see if we can pick up some large game fish like Marlin or sailfish and then in the afternoons come back to some of the areas around reefs. There are  rooster fish yellowtail and other game fish. These kind of fishing trips are done usually in 8 hours and have good success for hooking up on some of our larger fish. When live baiting around the reefs there are several options for fish. The roosterfish love to hang around the shallow reefs. Some of the other fish like the snapper, yellowtail and even mahi -mahi feed in these shallow puerto vallarta fishing report februarywaters off the Puerto Vallarta fishing coast.
The month of February offers great fishing times. The best fishing this time of the year is offshore early for the big ones and inshore in the afternoon. This is like having a two for one trip. The best of both worlds in fishing here in Puerto Vallarta.
The inshore action is hardy ever effected by the strong trades winds here during the month if February and March. The main reason is the bay is so well protected by our beautiful mountains that surround our bay.puerto vallarta fishing in February
The bay fishing remains incredible and every day more sardines are showing up. The bait movement alone is the reason to be here fishing in Puerto Vallarta. Some of the other incredible factors are the friendly people, whale watching, hundreds of great dining restaurants to chose from along with where some of the best winter fishing you can find here in Mexico.
Come on and enjoy the Puerto Vallarta fishing report action. We will be ready for deep sea fishing ,whale watching or just hanging out in the bay snorkeling. Please call toll free for latest report 800 430 6048.

    Puerto Vallarta Fishing Report

  • Puerto Vallarta fishing report December

    puerto vallarta mahi mahi action

Puerto Vallarta fishing report December. The fishing in November has been incredible and great steady fishing here in Puerto Vallarta Mexico. The inshore action and offshore has been some of the best fishing in many years. There have been many Marlin, sailfish, mahi -mahi and tuna caught on these fishing trips. The inshore fishing has been fantastic catching lot of the skipjack tuna, mahi-mahi, and some sailfish right here inside our beautiful bay. The largest in Mexico.  The best bet for these inshore fishing trips here in Puerto Vallarta have been 6 hours .

The fishing over on the Southside around Los Arcos and then heading out west towards Yelapa have produced many of the Mahi-Mahi and even some big sailfish. The skipjack tuna, Bonitas, and Spanish mackerel have been holding on the north side of the bay and really good numbers. Once again these Puerto Vallarta fishing trips inside the bay are usually the six hours. These inshore fishing trips are perfect for families and of course people that don’t want to spend all day on a fishing boat. The normal trip starts at around 7 or 7:30 in the morning and continues on up until 1 p.m. or 2 p.m. in the afternoon. The action has been hot and all trips I’ve been very successful.

puerto vallarta mexico marlin actionpuerto vallarta mahi mahi action

The offshore fishing trips have been best with 8 and 10 hour trips fishing here in Puerto Vallarta. The best bet has been 10 hours and most of these trips have been out to the rock also known as the Corbetena. The Marlin have been holding strong around the close by  and there are many baits there for the taking for these large fish. The larger mahi-mahi and sailfish or around the same area. Best fishing technique has been catching the large 5 to 10 lb. baits live baiting for them or fishing with our kites. The kite fishing has produced a lot of tuna all the way up to 250 lb. The downriggers with the large baits have been great for the big marlin as well. As you can see the offshore fishing and inshore fishing here in Puerto Vallarta is great and will continue to hold strong through December. On another side note to Humpback whales are showing up in good numbers and we’ll be doing whale watching tours on some of our trips soon. This is great news for the fishing clients that we take out. On the way out and on the way back will have incredible opportunities to see the 20-ton 40 foot incredible mammals playing here in our Waters. The offshore action right now for October is off the charts and getting better. The most consistent bite and been around the Corbetena were there has been tuna as well. These trips that we’re doing now offshore are 8 to 10 hours and I’ve had some really great success on all the pelagic fish that were fishing for here in Puerto Vallarta Mexico. The black and blue marlin have been hitting the live bait very well and also some of our black Bart larger lures. The crew had one on the other day that was almost 700 lb.

  • Puerto Vallarta fishing September

Puerto Vallarta fishing has seen some really good Improvement in September. The overall fishing here is in high gear. The water is still warm and the fishing is even hotter. The offshore action we are seeing some of the big cow Tunas as close as the Corberntena also know as the rock. The best bet for catching one of these big cow Tunas is with live chorras 5 to 10 lb baits. Also, this time of the year while fishing for the big Tunas you have the opportunity to hook into one of the blue marlin or black marlin that we have here in Puerto Vallarta fishing. Just as a side note for people out there that have not been fishing a lot for the big game fish a big marlin can see a dime from 50 meters away while swimming. So when they lock into a bait or lure they zip Right In For The Kill. Also along the way to some of our favorite spots like Marieta Islands, El Morro and the Corbetena we have been seen sailfish along the way. Sailfish like the smaller baits like mullet medium-sized black Bart lures. It’s not a common fact that sailfish are color blind. Even though we have every color of lures every color of different skirts that we use for the base all billfish are color-blind most people do not know this.  One of the reasons most fishermen want to hook one of these incredible fish is they are the fastest swimming fish in the world.  How about 75 miles per hour.

    fishing in puerto vallarta

The Bay fishing is still been great there’s roosterfish out there to be caught in good numbers. The Snapper down by the South Shore have been showing up and really good numbers for some bottom fishing. Best bait has been jigging live bait with sardines or some of the live goggle-eye. There have been a few mahi-mahis inside the bay. Most of these fish have been caught on the troll or around some floating objects that we still have from our rainy season that is ending very soon. The Northside Bay fishing here is still holding strong Spanish mackerel largest Bonitas and lots of barracudas have been caught.

The Puerto Vallarta fishing is incredible right now. This is a great time to come down and enjoy some of the best fishing we will have here in September. If you’re looking for Puerto Vallarta fishing charters you came to the right place will put you on the fish and have a great day.

Puerto Vallarta fishing charter report for August.   The latest fishing report we have been getting some huge Marlin offshore around the Corbetena and just north of this area. Quadruple hook up

When we are fishing for 8 hours up to 10-hours there are many different options to find pelagic fish for our clients on these incredible fishing trips. There are times when we check an area in the morning and the tides are not right does not mean the fishing there was bad, but the fish just did not want to bite on that particular tides.  The dorado fishing inside the bay has been great.  This is good for folks that don’t want to spend a full day fishing.  If you want to take one of our boats out but just want a short trip for family or friends this is the trip for you. These fishing trips are a fun day for 4 to 6 hrs. The offshore fishing is extremely hot with blue marlin and black marlin with some of the bigger Dorado and sailfish.  The inshore fishing 4 to 6 hours we’re catching some dorados, yellowtail, and Snappers up around north shore. I’ve seen a lot of fish showing up on the Southside in fantastic numbers. The best Method for catching these huge roosterfish is a troll of about 2 knots to 3 knots depending on the seas with some live goggle-eye or casting where the fish are schooling down by the south side of the bay as well. Los Arcos is just one of the many places we did well a couple of days ago.  These short fishing trips Can be done here in Puerto Vallarta fishing in 6 hours easily.
