• Puerto Vallarta fishing charters July

Puerto Vallarta fishing charters in July. Before I get started with the July fishing report here in Puerto Vallarta I want to address the question of the weather. I get hundreds and hundreds of calls each month asking about what the weather is going to be in the summer months here in Puerto Vallarta. We are in rainy season during June to October so yes it’s going to rain. Here in the tropics we normally experience rains late afternoon or early evening and during  the days the skies are sunny for fishing. . Along with getting the boats ready for our charters in the morning we are also constantly watching the weather conditions in Puerto Vallarta Mexico. We’ve been in business here for over 35 years and have never had an accident or any weather related problems. We appreciate everyone calling and your calls are welcomed.  I just want you know we’ll be keeping an eye on the weather for you for the summer months for any boating activities  you might be doing here while on vacation in one of the most beautiful spots in the world.

    puerto vallarta tuna fishing

July fishing I started off hot here in Puerto Vallarta. Offshore action is smoking hot. We’re seeing some nice Marlin along with some big cow tuna. Summertime is when the bigger Dorado start showing up offshore. You remember from one of our last report we’re starting to see the trash lines that are created by the light rains we have in the evenings.  We can work these lines  with live bait catching  Dorado and often along with the sailfish that feed on this trash line where two different water temperatures coming together and then blue and off colored Blue Water.

The Bay fishing here in Puerto Vallarta has been really fantistic for the month of July. Starting to see all kinds of small game feeding on those sardines that have been showing up with this warm weather and warm water. There’s been some of the roosterfish over on the Southside. I put this  in our last fishing report for June that we would be seeing them. The conditions here in July or the inshore fishing have gotten better. We are already starting to see a lots of families wanting to fish and this is perfect for the Bay.   We’ve also had a couple of good days fishing for bottom fishing for snapper and other good eating bottom fish. We’ve seen a few amberjack on the inshore and offshore trips those are always good eating and super fun to catch. The weather conditions remain the same winds and seas have been pretty much flat.  In the afternoon we have been seen a little more wind but with flat seas. Water temperature here in Puerto Vallarta fishing still holding right around 80° which is perfect for the pelagic fish fat we love catching here in Mexico.

  • Puerto Vallarta fishing report august

Puerto Vallarta fishing report August is as hot as it gets.  The fishing is up over the bay and incredible offshore. This last month in Puerto Vallarta Mexico saw some of the most fantastic fishing days of the summer. The August fishing report in Puerto Vallarta and the bay area like Nuevo Vallarta, Punya Mita and Sayulita will hold much of the same fishing action. The deep sea fishing had super days and some so-so days fishing but still landed much great fish. The best of the best top-notch fishing crews came to in fish the Corbetena and close by. There were several big tuna and many marlin feeding/ schooling there along with

fishing tournament in puereto vallarta El Banco. The wat to fish Puerto Vallarta fishing technique was the slow troll with huge bonitas. These large fishing baits which are 5 to 10 lbs. bait and catch more large tuna and marlin than any other way of fishing for last 32  years we have fished here in Puerto Vallarta fishing with our boats which is known as the friendliest city in the world. So many other fish caught by trolling with mullet fast and lures/jigging  around the Corbetena and El Banco just to mention a few. If you are going to Puerto Vallarta want to catch big fish August is one of the very best months to catch tuna, marlin, and sailfish.  Check with me before coming down to Mexico so we can f the figure out the tides for the daate you will be here and our sercect weapon Terrafin satellite pictures we get every  daily. This is a  service that I pay for to let our crews know where the fish are biting, water temp. and where blue water is located.

The July bay fishing was off the charts this last month.  August is going to be better as more bait which happens to love is showing up in the beautiful Puerto Vallarta bay and deep sea fishing  I mentioned earlier in this Puerto Vallarta fishing report for August.           puerto vallarta tuna fishing

Some days we ran short of bait when hooking up over thirty big fish for the day. The yellowtail, roosterfish, mahi mahi and many other incredible  fish are staying in  the bay with water temperatures is still above 80 deg. and will be most of the summer.  The sardines are thick along with many other fish like mullet.   The  fish are biting all summer long.  When you have great temperatures, baitfish and super blue water hold on to your fishing rod. I’m sure fish will be biting for the month of August in Puerto Vallarta fishing charters.  Come down and enjoy these fantistis fishing conditions here in beautiful Mexico on one of our many  sports fishers or one of our big boats for the comfort and  we offer on all thrill of our deep sea fishing charters here in Puerto Vallarta.

  • Puerto Vallarta fishing report May

    Puerto Vallarta fishing report May

Puerto Vallarta fishing report in May will see some of  the best fishing of the year.  This last week we have seem improvements in the bait showing up and the number of fish we have been catching.  The fantastic news is the blue water is close by and the incredible amount of bait that is showing up in the Puerto Vallarta bay fishing will keep the fishing hot for quite a while.

    bait ball puerto vallarta fishing

As you can see from this huge bait ball we found inside the bay of Puerto Vallarta the bait is here and the fish will be as well.  When you get this amount of bait in these waters of Mexico the fishing is out of this world.  The day we were on these bait balls there were snapper, sailfish, marlin and some nice sized dorados hanging around.   The pelagic fish love to feed off of the gigantic bait balls as they move very slowly and stay tightly packed together for protection.  The marlin

simply have to swim through them feeding at will.  We spot these huge bait balls sometimes from a mile away with the birds working on top of them.  What a sight to see and also helps us find the game fish we are looking to catch these days offshore.

The roosterfish, snapper, tuna, sailfish, marlin, and mahi – mahi also known as dorados hang around these bait balls.  The water temp. moved up a few degrees and is holding around 77 deg. And should be stable for the next month.

    snapper fishing puerto vallarta

The bay fishing has been really hot this last week.  The yellowtail a.k.a.  jack crevalle are thick catching some days ten to twenty fish all around the 20 to 30 lbs range.  The Calofornia bonita are following the bait balls into the bay and are really fun fish to catch.  Average day for these great tasting fish is fifty a day are in the good range size.  These make for some great cerchive or on the grill after long day fishing here in Puerto Vallarta Mexico.

The offshore fishing is producing nice size dorados, sailfish and marlin.  The best bet has been to run up to Punta Mita catching the Calofornia bonita while watching the bait balls to see if there are snapper mixed in with them.  The stripped marlin love the black bart lure trolled around 8 knots as well as sailfish with condom rigs bait with lure on top of the bait.  Super hot right now.

Bay fishing is super for around 6 hrs. and the offshore fishing can’t be beat 8 hrs. and maybe more.

Some come on down while this beautiful spring weather and fishing is so good right now.

  • February fishing in Puerto Vallarta

February fishing in Puerto Vallarta Mexico.  What to expect ?  How long should we go ?  What size boat will we take ?  What will we catch ??  Just a couple of the questions I get everyday when answering calls and e mails about fishing here in Puerto Vallarta.  We need to know first how many people will be in your group so I can put you and your group on the proper size vessel.  We offer 28 ft. super pangas

    puerto vallarta super panga

    super panga Puerto vallarta

I also like to know if there will be young kids on the trip.  If the kids are really young your trip should be accordingly 4 hours to 6 hours.  Remember the kids of course want to go all day and stay out longer but  are not used to being on the water that amount of time.  These boats are great for families or small groups of four people.  Most of these trips will be in the bay but can venture offshore as well when we have smooth seas which is most of the time.

The next size boats we offer are from 32 to 36 ft. and can of course go offshore and take 6 people max.

The major difference is this boat has more shade and can run a a few more lines.  Best choice for families and serious fishermen.  Fantastic for offshore fishing and inshore fishing for just about anything you might  want to catch while here on vacation.  Snorkeling, whale watching and sight seeing is also offered on our boats here in Puerto Vallarta.

For larger groups and the serious fishermen we recommend one of our 40 ft. boats that can handle your group in total comfort and catch anything out there.  These boats run 10 lines and serval teasers at the same time for raising marlin, sailfish, tuna, and mahi – mahi that are usually found offshore in the month of February .  Like this month the stripped marlin action is hot just offshore for these pelagic fish.  Most of these trips range from 8 hrs. to 12 hrs. depending on which fish we will be targeting the day you and your group fishes with us.  One of the easiest way to find out about the current conditions is a simple toll free phone call ( 800 4306048 ) from the U.S. or Canada.

E mails are great for getting general info about fishing here but there’s nothing like speaking with the owner or one of our top notch Captains.  The average years working offshore fishing these Mexican waters is 30 year min.  What I’m saying is these guys can fish and know what they are doing.  More importantly they know where to find the fish and can answer any of your questions in perfect English.

fishing puerto vallartaThe second question I get everyday is how long should we go for.  This depends on what you would like to fish for.  Will you be wanting to catch marlin, sailfish ,tuna,  dorados ?  In the winter months most of these fish are roaming offshore and 4 to 6 hrs. is just not enough time to get out there and back in such a short time.  We recommend 8 hrs. plus for these kind of fishing trips.  This does not mean you can’t catch these fish in the bay or on shorter trips it’s just your chances go way up offshore and more time on the water.  As I stated earlier best way to find out where the fish are running and biting is contacting us via e mail or a phone call.  The summer fishing is totally different from the winter fishing and these pelagic fish are in the bay more  often.  We also have on the website a fishing calendar that can help most folks decide what they would like to catch.

What to expect on a fishing charter is a good question.   If you have done your homework there should be no surprises.  You should already know what has been biting the last few days and have a good idea where you will be fishing.  The amount of time on the water and of course which size boat best fits you/family needs and budget.  If you come out and fish with us on any of our vessels you can expect to have a safe fun filled day catch some amazing fish along with seeing the spectacular sights Puerto Vallarta has to offer.  Come on down and see what February fishing is all about but don’t forget to check with us on the latest Puerto Vallarta fishing report and correct conditions.
