Puerto Vallarta Fishing

The fishing has gotten hot as the water has cooled down to almost 74 deg. .  The first few days of February the fishing here in Puerto Vallarta has been great.  Yesterday we had sailfish and mahi mahi just outside the bay.    The bay fishing is producing yellowtail, roosterfish, tuna,bonita and snapper as well. The corbetena had some marlin  and tuna the last couple of days.   The  area up north close to Lo de Marcos has been seeing lot of  sailfish on the days the water was not off color along with stripped marlin. The mahi mahi are showing up around buoys and there are few boats catching them.   Most of these fish are caught trolling mullet, Google eye or pitch baits.　The fishing  over close to Yelapa got a lot of  yellow fin tuna the last couple of weeks and  should be great the coming week.  The water temperature is around 74 deg in most spots and raising.　 We are still catching a lot of huge Pargos and roosterfish  around the islands and corbetena and banco.　 Lot of sardines and flying fish showing up everywhere so the fishing should be good the coming weeks.　 Best baits have been trolling mullet/goggle eye, diamond jigs, sardines, rapalas and pitch baits.
